I have to say I LOVE Venice. I got a lot of mixed reports of Venice from people but it is just beautiful even though it took us nearly 2 hrs from the time we got off the train in Venice to get to our hotel when it would have taken about 20 mins if we knew where we were going. But we were't the only ones lost. It seems the way for new tourists.....suitcases and map in had and a lost look on their faces. The help and directions here was not very good. But all of that didn't deter me.
Venice feels like an island resort but with old buildings and little alleyways to get lost in.....and of course lots of shops to get lost in too! It is just so busy through the day but at night it just seems to come alive. People everywhere having dinner, taking gondola rides. The water taxis full with people going places and private boats motoring around.
Tony and i managed to find a quiet little restaurant that was out of the way.
Of course we found the famous Rialto Bridge and took a few photos along with everyone else. But I can't believe it that Tony wasn't in the photography mood today. He took about 50 photos instead of the standard few hundred.
Photos from the Rialto Bridge
Lots of shops with masks and glass ware and glass jewelry everywhere.
Tomorrow is another day with lots more exploring to do and little pubs to find along the way. So we should have a lot more photos of this beautiful city.
