Tuscany - day 23 - Cetaldo

Sunrise in Tuscany ..... Tony has been taking some lovely photos.

We set off after breakfast for Certaldo which was 30 mins drive from il Casolare di Libbiano. Now, the reason why we are only staying here for 1 night is because we wanted to stay 4 nights at il Casolare di Libbiano but could only get 3 nights so we thought we'd get somewhere close so there wasn't much driving involved and in the direction of Florence as we are heading that way tomorrow.

Here is a video of Tony's amazing driving skill.....we were so glad to have Roger our GPS to guide us in the right direction.

I'm really feeling tired today. It could be all the lovely food we have been eating....we both will need to go to Jenny Craig when we get back...or too much of a good time. I think all of the above! I could have another day relaxing just like yesterday...... minus the vino! I think once you start to relax and do nothing you want to keep doing that. This sightseeing caper is a tough gig... but someone's got to do it and we did put up our hand for it! At least I haven't woken in the mornings wondering where I am today or which way the bathroom is ... yet!

This is the backyard where we are staying in Certaldo.....very relaxing.

We'll settle into our hotel room and go explore Certaldo. Our hotel room is rather luxurious which I need to enjoy as I don't know what the accommodation is going to be like in Venice and in particular on Santorini!
We went to Certaldo Alto (old Certaldo) which is perched high on a hill. It's much like San Gimignano but much smaller which meant there weren't too many tourists. Only us and a few others. To get up to the old partmof Certaldo you could either walk up or take the cable car. We chose the cable car.

There was a wedding in the old part of Certaldo

Hahaha! I'm getting tired of smiling for Tony

In the cable car coming back down

When we came down we were treated to a musical festival in the main street

We are going back to Florence tomorrow to catch a train to our next adventure ... Venice.
