Sorrento - day 13 - Amalfi Coast

Today was the first day Tony and I have had a lovely relaxing day and it was absolutely wonderful.

We boarded the boat at 10:30am to take us to Amalfi and we secured a prime position on the boat. There were about 50 people on the boat and they all jostled for positions on the top deck. We on the other hand chose to be on the lower level at the back. And we had it all to ourselves! It was lovely and peaceful and we all ended up having a few nanna naps during the day.

The best seat on the boat.....Peter, Karen and myself.

Firstly we headed out to a group of islands where we dropped anchor and all had a swim. The water was beautiful and cold and the colour was a deep clear blue it was just bliss!

We then headed to Positano you had the choice to either stay in Positano for 3 hours or go onto to Amalfi to spend 2 hours so we chose to stay on the boat and go to Amalfi as we wanted the relaxing boat experience.
We got off at Amalfi and walk through the village and had lunch at a little Taverna and did a little shopping before we headed back to the boat.
We had a fantastic relaxing day on the boat. The water was calm so there was no sea sickness. Just a perfect day!

Where we had lunch

We didn't realize till after we had lunch that this huge cathedral was next to us.

Tony took a million photos yesterday....they were all good too. So it was hard to choose which to put up. I'm also trying to upload a video for you all but I'm having trouble. Will try again soon.

Today we will be getting the train to Naples then another train to Florence where we will be spending 4 days there with Tony's daughter and boyfriend. Both live in Germany. Peter and Karen have left Sorrento today as well and are traveling to Athens to go on their 7 day Greece cruise!
