The days are passing by so quickly.......still more fun to be had though.

Autumn has arrived in Paris.
We started our day with a visit to Starbucks to kick start the day then on the on off bus to the Lourve but we missed the stop so decided to go to the Champs Élysées instead. It was a rainy cold day today so walking down the Champs Élysées wasn't very nice so we took refugee out of the cold and went to the first place we could find. It was the house of the golden arches.....Maccas......yes I know not very French but I did have French fries.

This is a photo of the Champs Élysées from yesterday.
I forgot to mention yesterday in my blog that at the big round about at the Arc de Triomphe instead of taking the subway to get to the arch a lady decided to walk through the traffic. Just amazing to watch as she kept walking and the traffic just drove around her. Silly woman I think she was a tourist. I don't know how there aren't more accidents at that huge intersection.
We then caught the Metro yo the Lourve. I have to say I didn't like the paintings very much .... A bit too biblical for my liking and the crowds were huge but I did like all the sculptures so all was not lost.

As we were both not feeling the best we decided to go home for a nanna nap. We took a bit of a wrong turn on the way home and went exploring a bit more of the Marais district. What a fascinating place. Gorgeous boutiques and cafes. Lia, Rae and Marg there was a red wool jacket that I absolutely fell in love with but the price was about 890 euro so that would have made it about $1100. Just a bit too much I think!

We bought Tony a man scarf to keep his neck warm.....I think it suits him!

Time for a nanna nap then back on the Metro at 7:30pm to the Trocerdo to wait for the Eiffel Tower light show. The old girl looks spectacular at night and puts on a beautiful show.

We had dinner at a little restaurant near our apartment. The food is fantastic and not too expensive. Everything you eat is top quality and cooked to perfection.

I bought myself a beret and a gorgeous scarf.
We are hoping to visit Versailles tomorrow. See how poor Tony feels with his cold.

ReplyDeleteHey sweetie.... Yep I know Starbucks is a pretty poor choice seeing how we are in Paris. I did have coffee in a cafe the first day we arrived but didn't like it.....then I found old Starbucks. At least it's in Paris.
