Tuscany - day 22 - Picnic in the Tuscan Hills

The Tuscan life really agrees with me.....and Tony too. Although I think Tony can find peace anywhere. I haven't suffered from any headaches since being in Tuscany so I think the countryside is a tonic for me. Maybe Tony and I'll have to pack our belongings and go bush when he retires and get out of the rat race!

I'm sitting under an apple tree...green apples to be precise.....and penning my blog for today. We had a wonderfully relaxing day today and had a picnic lunch with beautiful salads, bread and vino Rossi (red wine) for lunch brought to us by our personal waiter, Mario...... we would like to think he is. My mantra is really working overtime at the moment....specially after a vino Rossi....it's all part of the travel experience, it's all part of the travel experience!

We have met so many nice people staying here at il Casolare di Libbiano. Most of them are americans but there is a german family with grandad, mum, dad, daughter and her boyfriend. Tony has been getting on famously with granddad as he speaks german very well. The rest of the family were very lovely. But the ones that stay in my mind the most are the 4 lovely ladies from Seattle. Mary, Alisa, Marty and Connie didn't know each other that well or at all before they came away on their Tuscan holiday. The story goes that their mutual friend Rhonda said many years ago that when all their children go off to college we should all go on a holiday to Italy. As it turns out Rhonda couldn't make it but the 4 ladies said they would still go on their holiday and they've gotten to know each other really well and I think they'll be friends for life. They were lovely ladies to talk to and found their individual stories fascinating.

We are just about to go and have our last 4 course dinner that Costantino will be preparing for us.....don't know what we will be eating.....the surprise will be worth it. I'd love to take Costantino home with me to be be our cook... don't think his wife would like that though hahaha!

Our lovely hosts Berta and Andrea at il Casolare di Libbiano.

Tomorrow we head off to Cetaldo...which is about 15 mins away from here....for 1 night.
